Gecko EduBook Netbook Use 8 Pieces Ordinary Dry Battery
Gecko EduBook is a netbook with a screen size of 8.9 ” (1024 × 600). Gecko EduBook is very interesting netbook, because if the user in emergency & the battery in zero condition, user can replace it with 8 pieces ordinary dry battery. If it use NiMH battery, Gecko EduBook able to used about 4 hours, or it can also use lithium batteries that usually used in notebooks (up to 6 hours active use).
Something that makes Gecko EduBook different with other netbook is it use 1GHz processor Xcore86 which only requires power about 1.2 watts & it doesn’t generate heat, so it makes Gecko EduBook does not need the cooling fan. The hardware of Gecko EduBook also very easy to upgrade without the need to replace the entire section, such as processor, memory or other.
Another interesting point from Gecko EduBook is this netbook can use direct electricity without having to use the adapter (DC), so Gecko EduBook has lighter weight & more efficient.
Other specifications of Gecko EduBook, it has memory 512 MB RAM / 1GB, supports SD card, VGA port, stereo speakers, Mic in, built-in mic, 3 fruit port USB 2.0 and 10/100 Ethernet. EduBook use Windows XP or Linux as operating system. Unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi connection in Gecko EduBook, so to connect to a network, you will need additional equipment, which means to get out money back.
Gecko EduBook has price U.S. $ 200, less expensive than other cheaper notebooks, but the most important advantage, we can use regular batteries to replace the regular battery.
