We haven’t heard about the development of a flexible and thin speaker. And Fujifilm as a Japanese multinational photography and imaging company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan has developing a film layer that can be used for the diaphragm (vibrating plate) on a speaker called the Beat. With the flexible diaphragm, it enables to create a speaker with flexible enough (can be curved and folding). And at the Nano Tech 2013 exhibition which held in Tokyo on January 30 to February 1, Fujifilm shows the speaker that can be rolled up. How about the sound quality? It still took a long time to prove it because it’s still in the development stage.
