AUO Will Showcase A Notebook With Solar Panel

AU Optronics (AUO) introduced a 14 inch notebook with a touch keyboard that uses solar energy where the solar panel mounted on the front cover and the top of the keyboard to get maximum result. Although it has used solar panel, it still need battery, the solar panel is used to supply the electricity on the keyboard itself.

Call Phones Telephone Box From Google As Skype Competitor

The free Google’s email, Gmail has launched its latest feature, the Call Phones. Call Phones can be said as Skype competitor and to make Call Phones able to compete, Google has a plan to install a “Call Phones” telephone box in some crowded areas. Something unique, the telephone box will use England telephone box design with red color retro style. Of course, this phone can be used for free by everyone, but it is limited within the United States and Canada, and maximum 20 minutes.This telephone box will use solar panels as the energy source for the lighting. Can Call Phones beat Skype with this strategy? Let’s wait and see the progress.

Solarve : World’s First Bus With Solar Panels

Sanyo Electric Co.,Ltd. and Ryobi Group has succeeded to develope Solarve (Solar Vehicle), world’s first bus with solar panels. The solar panels were placed on the roof and of course it is not used to run the bus, but it is used to supply the lighting and fan electricity in the bus. The bus uses LED lights so it will save the energy and when the battery is fully charged, the battery can be used for 9 hours. Solarve will start to take action in September 1, 2010 in the city of Okayama.

Porsche 918 Spyder: Sport Car With Hybrid Technology

In March 2010, a new hybrid concept sport car called Porsche 918 Spyder has been exhibited by Porsche. Porsche 918 Spyder is a concept sport car that uses hybrid engine and combines 2.6 liter V8 engine with 160 kW electric engine. As a sport hybrid car and environmentally friendly, Porsche 918 Spyder has maximum speed up to 320 km/h and it took about 3.2 seconds from 0-100 km. As hybrid car with electric engine in it, the Porsche 918 Spyder can be used up to 25 km (only using electric engine). It can be used up to 25 km because the Porsche 918 Spyder is supported by a strong and lightweight materials.
